Entry Information

Calling all photographers: Show off Senate District 2
Submit your photos of any of the 31 towns in Senate District 2 (listed below) for a chance to win a Kodak EasyShare Z915 camera.  Fran Wendelboe, candidate for State Senate, asks for your help to highlight the unique community character and beauty of the towns in Senate District 2.  Fran will showcase the work of local Photo submissions on her campaign website, facebook page and campaign literature.

From June 20 through September 1, 2010, photographers may submit as many entries as they would like to be considered for display on . (check out the website daily to see if your picture is featured!)
Photos should display some aspect of community life. Possible subjects might include (but are not limited to) community events (such as parades, fairs/festivals, or local sporting events), local landmarks, areas of scenic beauty or seasonal pastimes (fishing, ice fishing, sailing, hiking, skiing etc.). We particularly encourage the submission of photographs that include the local landscape—especially for the website.

The photography display is open to all photographers, amateur or professional.  The award of the camera will NOT be based on skill but simply on submission.  Every picture submitted will have an entry for a random drawing of the winner.
Format for Entries:
All submissions must be in color.  Please observe the following specifications:
Digital photography is required and images must be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi at 8” x 10”. Photographs with slightly lower resolutions will be reviewed, but may not be used.  Submission will still qualify you for an entry for the drawing even if the photograph is not used.
Digital images must be submitted via email.
Digital images must be saved in a jpg format
Fran for Senate reserves the right to crop photo entries if necessary.
Official Entry Forms:
To enter the drawing, please submit your photos along with contact information, identification of where the picture was taken and permission of any easily recognizable individuals that the picture may be used on a political website, facebook or campaign literature.
Please be sure to fill in all requested information in your email:
1.Contact information: name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number and email address. We must be able to contact you by one or more of these methods if your name is picked in the drawing for the camera.
2.Photo name, location, and brief description for each photo taken. You may describe who or what is in the photo, any interesting details about why you took the photo, or other circumstances that add interest to the image.
3.Assignment of Publication Rights. We cannot, by law, publish any photographs on our website or in other publications without the explicit permission of the photographer. In order for us to include your photos in the drawing, you must specifically give your permission in the email for the photos submitted.   These rights are nontransferable, and all other rights remain with the photographer.
4.Parental Release Form. If any of your submitted photographs features the face of a child under the age of 18, the child’s parent or legal guardian must complete and sign permission to publish a photo of their child in our website or any other publication. In order to protect the privacy and safety of children, we cannot consider any photos with children in them without first receiving parental consent.  This will need to be done in writing for every picture that is of an individual.  A picture of a large group of people along a parade route or spectators at an event would not trigger this requirement.

Entries must be received by email no later than September 1st., 2010. Winner will be announced by September 5th, 2010 on  and by personal notification to winner.
